To further expand our leasing operations, we are looking for a motivated Retail Leasing Advisor with a particular interest in retail, cities, and commercial real estate.

We’re looking for someone who looks beyond square meters and rent prices. Someone who has a feel for shopping districts, understands why certain locations are commercially strong, and can intuitively sense which retail or hospitality concept will thrive where.

Your challenge

Retail real estate is more than just leasing a property. It’s about understanding cities, streets, consumer traffic, and business concepts.

Why does a particular retailer thrive on one street but not 100 meters down the road? Which streets are on the rise? Which property has inherently strong commercial qualities? And which concept can enhance a location?

As a Retail Leasing Advisor, you’ll continue to build on that market knowledge every day. You’ll learn to interpret the commercial landscape of cities and shopping districts and translate that knowledge into concrete leasing transactions.

What’s more, you can literally see the results of your work. A building that stands empty today could, thanks to your efforts, house a new retailer, restaurant, or other commercial venture tomorrow. In this way, you help shape the shopping districts and city centers of tomorrow.

Your responsibilities:

Actively search for suitable prospective tenants for available commercial properties.
Identify and approach retailers, restaurant and bar owners, and new commercial concepts.
Assess which concepts are suitable for a specific city, street, and location.
Learn to identify and evaluate the commercial strengths and weaknesses of retail properties.
Actively monitor shopping districts and retail markets: new openings, closures, tenant movements, and changing consumer trends.
Organize and conduct site visits.
Manage rental applications from the initial contact through the signing of the lease agreement.
Support negotiations between landlords and prospective tenants.
Advise property owners on the commercial positioning of their properties.
Actively seek out new rental contracts.
Carefully follow up on leads, inquiries, and prospective tenants.
Build long-term relationships with property owners, retailers, and business owners.
Work closely with colleagues on our sales team.

Relationships Over Transactions

At De Kempe, retail leasing isn’t about handling as many individual transactions as possible.

You’ll build a network of property owners, retailers, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers with whom you’ll do business again and again throughout your career. A retailer you help find a suitable location for today may be looking for an additional location tomorrow. A property owner for whom you lease a single property today may turn to you again in the future for other real estate matters.

Your profile

A deep passion for retail is essential to us.

You’re curious about what’s happening in cities. When you walk down a shopping street, you notice new concepts, wonder why certain businesses are successful, and see which locations have potential.

We’re not looking for someone with a 9-to-6 mindset, but rather someone who is truly driven to grow and finds fulfillment in results. You value responsibility, success, and customer satisfaction more than fixed hours. You get your energy from action, people, and opportunities—not from routine.

You possess:

A strong interest in retail, shopping districts, cities, and commercial real estate.
Business acumen and the ability to recognize opportunities.
A natural interest in new retailers, hospitality, and retail concepts.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ambition to build our own network and foster long-term customer relationships.
A proactive work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility.
Independence, combined with a desire to work as part of a motivated team.
A good command of Dutch; knowledge of French is a strong asset.
Experience in real estate is a plus, but not required.
